The "Adi Shakti", also called Khanda, is a symbol from the Sikh tradition. It represents the primary creative aspect of God (female creative power!) and consists of several elements: a circle (chakar – a medieval throwing ring, chakra): it stands for the universe, the power of creation, infinity without beginning and without end and three swords. In the middle a two-sided sword (Khanda): This is the sword cutting in two directions. It stands for truth and separates good and evil. It cuts through the circle because truth drives creation. The other two swords (Kirpans): stand for heaven (Miri) and earth (Piri) and symbolize worldliness and spirituality.
